Disqualified

USA Today, 7 February 2019: Sen. Elizabeth Warren apologized Wednesday for "not having been more sensitive about tribal citizenship" after The Washington Post published a 1986 Texas bar registration card where she listed her race as "American Indian."

"I'm not a tribal citizen," the Massachusetts Democrat told reporters. "My apology is an apology for not having been more sensitive about tribal citizenship and tribal sovereignty. I really want to underline the point, tribes and only tribes determine tribal citizenship."

During her apology, she admitted that more documents identifying her as Native American may exist.

It was at least the third time in a week that Warren – who is part of the large Democratic field running to unseat President Donald Trump in 2020 – has apologized for her past self-identification. 

So. . .there is currently a furor sweeping the State of Virginia over the governor's appearance in blackface 35 years ago. . .almost all are calling for the governor to step down over his breach of racial etiquette.

We don't believe the governor should resign. . .coloring oneself with shoe polish 35 years ago in an attempt to mimic Michael Jackson isn't a high crime and misdemeanor (unless the Virginia governor also mimicked Jackson's pedophile crimes), it's only, at worst, and can only be viewed at worst in the lens of the current identitarian hysteria, a 35 year old goof of poor white taste.  There was no evident motive of racial animus or deceit, other than to have a goof and win a banal dance contest.

The case of Senator Warren, however, is no simple goof.  It seems logical to assume, contrary to what must certainly be the Senator's dishonest claim, that she wanted to fraudulently appropriate a Native American identity to ease her path to career success through Affirmative Action shortcuts.  No other logical conclusion can be drawn.  By her own admission that there are probably other such documents which show her misidentifying herself, the Senator has exhibited a clear pattern of deceit.  She's a liar, plain and simple.

And her lie demonstrates a repulsive contempt for Native American people, blithely using their anguished history for her own advancement.  One must further conclude Senator Warren felt entitled to steal a Native identity because on its own, that is, on the being of real Native Americans, the identity had no worth, and that only by her wearing it as a costume did Native American identity have any value.  Her actions are the actions of the grave robber.

The enormous difference between the actions of Virginia governor Ralph Northam and Senator Elizabeth Warren ought to be manifestly evident.  Northam never claimed to be African American to gain dishonest advantage.  He was, at worst, an insensitive goofball.  Senator Warren lied about her racial heritage to gain the advantage of Affirmative Action shortcuts.  In doing so, she repeatedly mocked Native Americans.  Her actions are beyond contempt, and anyone who calls on Ralph Northam to resign, but not Senator Warren, is an obvious hypocrite.  

Senator Warren's actions morally disqualify her from her Senate seat and presidential ambitions.  There ought to be deafening shouts from her political party for her to step down.

3 February 2019, Richmond Times-Dispatch: Gov. Ralph Northam refused to resign from his office Saturday and instead attempted to ride out a scandal that is threatening to end his political career by denying he was one of the two men in a racist photo that appeared in his medical school yearbook. Resisting intense pressure from his Democratic allies to step aside, Northam, 59, said in an afternoon news conference that he was not in the photo from his yearbook page showing one man in blackface and another in Ku Klux Klan robes. “This was not my picture. I was not in that costume either as blackface or as KKK. And it’s not me,” Northam said.

Later Saturday, President Donald Trump weighed in, criticizing Northam for changing his story about the yearbook photo and for making controversial comments about an abortion bill earlier in the week. “Unforgivable!” Trump tweeted.

The photo that surfaced Friday appeared on Northam’s page in the 1984 yearbook for Eastern Virginia Medical School, which Northam attended while he was in his mid-20s. Though he denied being in the yearbook photo, Northam admitted that he used shoe polish to darken his face for a Michael Jackson dance contest that same year in San Antonio, where he did his medical residency. Northam’s shifting explanations threatened to plunge the state into a leadership crisis at the midway point of the General Assembly’s legislative session. Democrats and Republicans alike have demanded Northam’s resignation as lawmakers prepare to return to Richmond to continue their work on the state budget and critical tax policy issues.

Northam’s comments Saturday run counter to his first statement Friday night, in which the governor apologized for appearing in the photo and for the “hurt” it had caused. On Saturday, Northam suggested that he had been overzealous in his initial apology, saying he did not have a copy of the yearbook because he never bought one and was unaware of what was on his page. After taking more time to look at the photo, Northam said, he concluded he was not in it. And he said he would be willing to use facial recognition software to try to prove it. “I recognize that many people will find this difficult to believe,” Northam said. The governor asked that his colleagues take him at his word and allow him to take the more difficult path of staying in office and having an “honest conversation about racial injustice.”

Northam’s new position on the photo did not appear to improve his standing among his Democratic allies. For the first time, Attorney General Mark Herring said Saturday that Northam should resign and pledged his full support to Democratic Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax, a 39-year-old lawyer and relative newcomer to state politics who would become the Virginia’s second African-American governor if Northam steps down.

So 35 years ago this guy pretended to be a negro, and now he has to quit his job, and be the poster boy for racism?

Isn't it simply amazing how many people have stated that Northam-as-Negro 35 years ago now causes pain?

Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine stated Governor Northam has served the people of the Commonwealth faithfully for many years, but the events of the past 24 hours have inflicted immense pain and irrevocably broken the trust Virginians must have in their leaders. He should step down and allow the Commonwealth to begin healing.

Hahaha!  C'mon!  Are Americans really that psychologically fragile?

This is all just the New American Political Theatre which is scripted by political busy-bodies who seek to earn filthy lucre with their soft labor.   These *new media* leeches set-up make-believe Internet *News* Organizations (America is overflowing with these shit sites, like Gateway Pundit) which are staffed by useless eaters who do nothing but sit around computers sifting through digital garbage looking for sins, no, not sins, but behaviors that do not fit the Contemporary American Emo Paradigm.  Once these behaviors are uncovered, the finger-pointing begins, and the victim's squirms becomes the Political Theatre which distracts and divides the sheeple (various harmless behaviors provoke voluntary anxiety in segments of the voluntarily ill populace: blackface makes leftists nervous, boys pretending to be girls makes the right nervous).  Real political issues are then left unaddressed, which benefits, of course, the Elite.

It's true, America being governed mostly by the venal, that it's hard to sympathize with the victims of Political Theatre, but Blackface Northam seems the exception.  He came across as an earnest simpleton in his press conference, voluntarily confessing, in excruciating naivete, his Michael Jackson shoe polish homage.  He perhaps believed, wrongly, of course, Americans are a forgiving people.  Haha!  Our America Now is a nest of self-righteousness, which calls to mind the wisdom of David:

I am in a great strait: let me fall now into the hand of the Lord; for very great are His mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man.

Northam now learns the painful lesson of Our America Now: no mercy.

Northam, undoubtedly too good-natured, a seeming pushover in far far over his head, will most-likely wilt under the pressure of Political Theatre, and resign in fabricated disgrace.  Too bad, for if he had some steel in his spine, he could be the first political rebel of the Gotcha! Age.  If he were to refuse to resign, and instead let the American babies cry themselves to sleep, he would mark the way forward for the next victim, and begin a process leading to the shuttering of the doors of America's crude, shallow Political Theatre.
