I canceled my cable about 15 years ago. . .FOX was crap back then, and judging from this clip, it must be even worse, now.

First of all, who is the talking head?  She looks half-an-Afrikan, herself, and here she is blaming all these murders-by-cop on the "minority" victims.  Is she some Uncle Tom Sowell sell-out with a cunt?  Or just some shit-tinted white?

But anyways. . .

Look at that demonic flag waving in the background while the mudperson talking head demands we OBEY the po-lice.  Can you imagine the (brain-damaged) minds of the sheeple who voluntarily watch this shit?  The unthinking sheeple who automatically believe the po-lice and the state are always justified in their use of violence?  Who don't give a shit if some raggedy-ass "minority" is shot and killed over some trivial traffic violation, because the "minority" didn't OBEY, like they do?  And the sheeple unashamedly admit they need to be TRAINED by their masters, as some nitwit named "Larry" (probably watching FOX with his buddies Curly and Moe) does with his *instapol* comment:

If "Larry" is real, and not some government social media bot sent to tweet to the American lemmings, then he cannot be in control of his own mind. . .he's one of the tens upon tens of millions of Americans living in an altered state of consciousness, submitting to the will of the government, and thinking and acting against his own best interest.

The *Singularity*

The Daily Star, 4 April 2015: An increasing number of low income Japanese men and women are permanently living in tiny dark cubicles at internet cafes where they play video games in their spare time while saving on rent. Known as 'internet cafe refugees', they spend every night washing, sleeping and eating at the gaming centres in between what is usually low-paid and menial employment, the People's Daily Online reported. The trend started in the 1990s with some young men spending a growing amount of their time playing video games, and then graduating into low paid mindless jobs, which occupied the space in between going back to the cafe.

Eventually they moved permanently into the 24-hour cafes, which have cubicles where the computer user can fall asleep as well as bathrooms where they can freshen up before heading off to work. One such refugee is 26-year-old Fumiya, who works as a security guard on a construction site in between spending the rest of his time at the internet cafe. He is spotted in the documentary chain-smoking and using the computer. He said, “I originally wanted an apartment of course but it was expensive here in the city, so I decided to just live at the Internet cafe. I spent most of my time there anyway hanging out, so it wasn't really much of a step to spend the rest of my time there. I must admit it is not that easy to sleep here, you never feel rested because there's always noises and disturbances going on around but it's got great facilities. I had hoped I'd be able to save some money but it doesn't really work out like that. It's just getting me from one day to the next.”

The Prophets of the twin modern gods Science and Technology herald the coming of the *Singularity,* the Great Day when the power of computers, nanotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence surpass the human ability to comprehend it. Not only will the world be fundamentally changed, say the Prophets, but mankind, also. Machine intelligence will fuse with the human nervous system, nanobots will patrol the circulatory system and human beings will return to the days of Noah, when life spans reached 500+ years. And when the body eventually ceases to function, the human *soul* (our personality and memories, according to the technicians) will be granted an eternity in a software after-life. [Hell, I suppose, will consist of having your soul hacked by a bored 150 year old tween, and downloaded to serve as a sacrifice in a 23rd century update of Crazy Goat.]  Robots will perform most of the work, leaving humans to live their centuries-long lives accepting government handouts.  (If only this were true! Then the greatest single achievement of the *Singularity* would be the disappearance of all republicans from the face of the earth within 20 - 50 years).

But if the essence of the *Singularity* is mankind left disoriented by the scientific and technological gadgets surrounding him, and with no meaningful labor to occupy his time, then the Prophets are wrong, the Great Day of the *Singularity* is not still to come, but is already here, as evidenced in the sepulchral video above. . .

One can look at Japan's forlorn net cafe refugees as tiny seeds which shall grow into the earth-covering garden of the Kingdom of the *Singularity.*  But when the garden is in full bloom, those such as the two misfits in the video will be left to wither, for the world will not be fundamentally changed.  It will still be a world of gross income inequality, with the 1% wearing *Singularity's* new clothes, and the poor left out to die.  Any who imagine the Kingdom of *Singularity* as a friend to the poor, with a benevolent operating system doling out a life support system to billions of useless eaters, must assume the *Singularity* will bring not only a biotechnological change to humanity, but a spiritual change, as well.  Human history unambiguously shows the rich caretake the poor only to keep them tilling their soil, digging their mines and fighting their wars.  With robots and artificial intelligence to maintain their existence, is it reasonable to expect the 1% to keep the poor as house pets?

The Kingdom of the *Singularity* can only mean the final harvest of the poor. . .

[But if we recall Jesus' words for ye have the poor with you always, the rich might not, after all, get to enjoy the fruit they expect from the *Singularity*. . .]

But what of the 1%? Will they be a new creation? The outcome of a New Age of *evolution?*

Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. . .The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? It hath been already of old time, which was before us.

The four hundred year old homo machina with a microchip in his nose, supposing himself to have transcended the boundary between the temporal and the eternal, will be nothing more than a sci-fi Papuan boy on his first return from the bush, and awarded a bone through the nose to mark his passage from childhood to adulthood. . .

Returning to the here and now, a few remarks on the video's two net cafe refugees.  The young man Fumiya, the 26 year old part-time security guard, doesn't see the hopelessness of his situation.  He imagines a better job paying more money would improve his life. And of what does this *improved life* consist?  An apartment to sleep in.  A larger, quieter cubicle.  He dreams, then, of being a poor American, who can still manage a shabby apartment on Walmart wages.

Fumiya says that prior to having to take up permanent residence in the net cafe, he spent most of his time hanging out there, anyway, so his *quality of life* has remained essentially unchanged. This tells us Fumiya's leisure hours were mainly spent in search of electronic distraction.  The video shows Fumiya isolated in a dark, tiny space, staring blankly at a screen.  Minus the $15-a-night black cubicle, this, of course, is the picture of the entire Western and Pacific Rim millennial generation.  A generation of isolated youth, confining themselves to just enough space to sit hunched over a screen, whether it be in their bedroom, a coffee shop, or the school cafeteria.

This is the *quality of life* the *Singularity* offers the poor from here on out. . .

Not that it's any worse than any past *quality of life,* as we learn from the second net cafe refugee featured in the video, the older gentleman Tadayuki, the former credit card company *salaryman.*  Tadayuki had the kind of *good job* Fumiya thinks could better his life, but, as is commonly said, experience is the best teacher.  Tadayuki had a *good job* for twenty years, and it drained the life out of him, leaving him with the near-universal 21st century diagnosis: depression.

For Tadayuki, still recovering from the trauma of his twenty year *career,* the cramped, stuffy cell of the net cafe is a breath of fresh air.  Is it unreasonable to say Tadayuki had been a fairly typical Western/Pacific Rim worker bee?  If so, what does that tells us about modern man's *quality of life?*

For twenty long years Tadayuki died every day.  A credit card bureaucrat, he performed the *free market's* most esteemed labor, making money out of thin air.  I suppose some would see Tadayuki as a failure, a loser unable to *hack it* at his job.  But in their hearts, don't most Western/Pacific Rim workers know their professions are meaningless?  And yet they return to work day-after-day, year-after-year, decade-after-decade.  Tadayuki had the courage to try to salvage his life.  He tells us: my heart was singing when I quit!  What a hero! The courage to quit!  The courage to try to find life. . .

The Kingdom that has been, is the Kingdom that shall be. . .

The coming Kingdom of the *Singularity* claims to offer a new human creation and a new way of living, but what we can see of it in its already present form doesn't measure up.  The new way of living will be just as deadening as the old way. . .

Tadayuki lives with hope at the moment, believing he may find life outside of Japan. . .but what will happen to him if he leaves Japan and finds life on earth is the same everywhere?  Perhaps then he could take the leap of faith, and look for life in the Kingdom of Heaven. . .

Kathy Kelly: Imprisoned for Peace

I’ve been appalled my entire adult life by American militarism, and especially so in the post-9/11 era.  The unholy violence of American *foreign policy* not only strikes me as unjustifiable in its victimization of the others, but irrational, as well.  For example, Americans were told by the Bush administration the overthrow of Saddam Hussein would prevent Iraq from becoming a safe haven for terrorists, yet the results of America’s brutal military intervention, combined with an incoherent post-Saddam political strategy, produced exactly the opposite, turning a terrorist-free zone into an alphabet soup of jihadi extremism. Similarly misguided and blood-stained adventurism has been repeated in Somalia, Syria, Libya.   After observing the deathly results of post-9/11 American *foreign policy,* the only conclusion I can draw that makes sense of the bizarre policy is that the real goal of American intervention is to create chaos guaranteeing a state of perpetual conflict with which to feed the American War Economy.

I find America’s latest war fad, drones, to be particularly disturbing, since it further distances the reality of the violence from the American people. With a robot air force doing an increasing share of the killing, there are now fewer coffins returning home to plumb the consciousness of what was an already small percentage of the American population cognizant of the flesh-and-blood cost of the War Economy.

Surrounded by friends, neighbors and co-workers untroubled by America’s robot wars, I despaired for peace, and thus it was with great interest, and even greater admiration, that I stumbled across, not in mainstream Media, but via the alternative media of the internets, of course, the story of Kathy Kelly.  

Ms. Kelly, a peace activist and co-coordinator of Voices for Creative Nonviolence, actually tried to look the American War Beast in the eye, and say “stop!”  Kelly traveled to Whiteman (how ironic, given the color of America’s drone victims) Air Force Base, a ground control station for unmanned Predator drone *missions,* and with a goodwill offering of a loaf of bread, tried to deliver a letter to the base commander expressing her concerns about the drone program.  For her humanitarian effort, a judge sentenced Ms. Kelly to three months in a Federal Prison in Lexington, KY.

I felt compelled to write Ms. Kelly in prison and express my thanks and admiration for her efforts on behalf of peace.  I also included the following questions, anticipating that her answers might prove eye-opening and inspiring to any readers who happen across this corner of the internet. . .

Q: Was there any particular meaning, besides being a goodwill gesture, in your offering a loaf of bread to the Whiteman Air Force Base commander?

A: Georgia Walker and I believe that “we are all part of one another.”  For Georgia, an ordained woman priest, breaking bread indicates readiness to become bread, broken for others.  For me, the Afghan tradition of breaking bread together, while seated on the floor when meals are served, inspires trust in our capacity to use words instead of weapons. Albert Camus called the choice “a formidable gamble,” in his essay Neither Victims nor Executioners.  Military commanders should be approached by ordinary people.  We, the people, own the base and it’s lawful, under the constitution’s first amendment, to assemble peaceably for redress of grievance.  We hoped our gift of bread would be received as a sign of peaceful assembly.

Q: In reading news accounts of your trial, the prosecutor is quoted as saying you were in need of *rehabilitation!*  Can there be any more damning evidence of the lack of tolerance of dissent?  And shouldn’t we find it disturbing the state has such a twisted view of peace advocacy?

A: U.S. courts consistently refuse to allow a necessity defense—a claim that one acted to prevent a greater crime—and rarely allow defendants to say they exercised 1st Amendment rights to assemble peacefully for redress of grievance.  I’d like to rehabilitate the Military Industrial Complex and the Prison Industrial Complex.  It was disturbing to read, in late January, that Senator McCain referred to Code Pink activists as “low-life scum.  We need to objectively assess what actions most threaten security and well-being of people.  Topping the list would be manufacture and sale of nuclear weapons, any form of war profiteering, environmental destruction through corporate pollution and over-consumption of resources, manufacture of alcohol, firearms and tobacco. . .these are the BIGS.  I don’t want CEOs to be imprisoned, but rehab would be good.

Q: What is your opinion of American media?  Do you believe the media actively supports (and limits criticism of) US war policy?

A: The mainstream US media self-censors reporting on international news and foreign policy.  The subservience to US government and military pressures create a vise-like grip on education here in the US.  During the thirteen year stretch when the US imposed economic sanctions (through the UN) on Iraq, the media silence regarding the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children dismayed me.  Drumbeats for a new onslaught of airborne attacks and invasion enabled more punishment of people who had meant us no harm.  A handful of reporters refused to cooperate with mainstream war-mongering.

Q: Do you see any hope of a wide-spread anti-war movement forming in the US, such as occurred in the 1960s?

A: I hope we can build strong affinities between concurrent movements within the US, helping link activists together. Sometimes groups compete for funds, attention and support.  I hope the antiwar movement will be quite clear about readiness to cooperate with other left-leaning groups dedicated to building a better world.

Q: Does a volunteer military naturally limit peace activism, since the citizenry have no reason to fear having to fight in a war?

A: I suppose a “draft” would cause a dramatic uptick in numbers of activists resisting war, but I’d recommend first drafting people who are forty years and older.

Q: Why do you think the revelations of the falsehoods used by the Bush administration to generate support for the Iraq war met by such indifference by the American people?

A: Dr. John Tirman’s book The Deaths of Others, tackles the question of why US people are so indifferent to the casualties suffered in Iraq, during and after the war, afflicting Iraqi civilians.  Why wasn’t there indignance and outrage when it became clear that Iraq’s government didn’t harbor weapons of mass destruction?  Dr. Tirman says that when the government can persuade the US public that a war is waged for “humanitarian” purposes, such propaganda causes the majority to become indifferent—they won’t try to make a difference because there is genuine fear of harming people in the thrall, for example, of an evil dictator or an evil Taliban movement.

Q: Do you believe the Obama administration uses falsehoods to justify the drone program?

A: The government pretends that drones enable “surgical strikes,” but the proponents of drone warfare exaggerate exactitude, and besides, surgery is meant for healing.  The government doesn’t inform the public of Reprieve’s report that between November 2002 and November 2014 for every terrorist that was killed, twenty-eight civilians were killed.

Q: Is there any benefit from the drone program that could not be derived by peaceful means?

A: No.  As a pacifist, I see no benefits in killing people, destroying buildings and livelihoods, creating enmity and exacerbating spiraling levels of violence.

Q: Do you believe the American people really understand the drone program?  Are they aware of the civilian casualties?  If you believe they are aware, why are not more people upset by the casualties?

A: I don’t think US people regularly learn of civilian suffering caused by drones.  I’m reaching far into the past, but in the ‘90s, a little girl, JonBenet Ramsey, was front page news for months because she was a victim of abuse and murder.  Just about anyone I knew was well aware of the details in the case.  If US people are steadily informed of innocents who suffer, the populace will respond, but media serves up heaping portions of distractions (via sports and entertainment) and seldom helps the US people comprehend and analyze suffering of innocent people caused by US wars of choice.

Q: Granted American media shelters the people from the truth of the consequences of American military action, but don’t the people nonetheless have a responsibility for discovering for themselves this truth about what is done under their flag?  Haven’t the American people hid from this responsibility?  Don’t the American people themselves bear some guilt for the violence committed by the government they elect?

A: I’ve liked being guided by Dorothy Day’s writings as regards responsibility for “holy mother the state.”  (Dorothy’s term).  She recommended against allowing the state to usurp our own responsibilities to care for our neighbors in need or our own family members.  When we refuse to pay for war by becoming war tax refusers, we can redirect our funds and energies toward life-giving endeavors, toward practicing “the works of mercy” and totally rejecting “the works of war.”  Go to any impoverished neighborhood in a US city or town and it’s likely that you’ll find a house of hospitality, or a shelter, or a soup kitchen where volunteers try to help meet the needs of people who for one reason or another have fallen through the cracks in a social safety net.  Joining these communities of service and sharing helps resolve questions about responsibility for US violence.  We build a new world within the shell of the old.

Q: Have you been a peace advocate your entire adult life?  What motivates your advocacy?  Why do you care about the lives of others?

A: Since I was 28 years old, I’ve been privileged to “rub shoulders” with activists dedicated to simple living, sharing resources, living simply and nonviolently, resisting injustice.  It’s a gift to be able to believe a few truths passionately and to align one’s life to live in accord with those truths.  I’ve been very, very fortunate.  A short answer: I fall in love easily.  I easily fall in love with hospitable, kindly people, such as those who have hosted us in Iraq, Gaza and Afghanistan.

Q: Excluding encounters with law enforcement, has your peace advocacy caused disharmony in your personal life, such as friendships or relationships ended?

A: I’m not aware of personal friendships or familial relationships that are disharmonious because of my peace activism.  Fifteen years ago, I would have said that immediate family members were exasperated with me.  But I became my father’s full-time care-giver for eight years, during which time my family grew to know and appreciate the Voices activists who took excellent care of my dad.  Relations now are quite harmonious, and I’m enjoying correspondence with my sisters.

*True Believer*

According to AmerICKan Media, 28 year old Brett, a self-proclaimed Christian from Detroit, is a *True Believer.*

Thus, the Catechism of the 21st Century Military Media Church of Christ:

Q: How is the Peace of Christ demonstrated to the world?

A: At the end of a rifle barrel.

We are far, far removed from the earliest surviving Catechism, the Apostolic Tradition of Hippolytus, dating from approximately 200:

A military man in authority must not execute men. If he is ordered, he must not carry it out. Nor must he take military oath. If he refuses, he shall be rejected. If someone is a military governor, or the ruler of a city who wears the purple, he shall cease or he shall be rejected. The catechumen or faithful who wants to become a soldier is to be rejected, for he has despised God.

Is it any shock, therefore, when we watch the above Gospel of War video, that our Lord Jesus Christ, envisioning our day and the worse days to come, wondered aloud to His followers:

When the Son of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?

How the church has fallen!  From martyrdom to murder. . .

We can trace the fall from  27 October 312, with the Roman Emperor Constantine's counterfeit conversion at the Battle of the Milvian Bridge.  Ascribing his war victory to the Christian God, Constantine freed the church from persecution.

Enticed by the grace of the ruler of the world, the church of the weak and the reviled could not follow the example of its Lord:

The devil taketh Him up to an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them, and saith unto Him, all these things will I give Thee, if Thou wilt fall down and worship me.  Then Jesus saith unto him, get thee hence, Satan, for it is written, thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.

What Satan failed in tempting the Lord with, he succeeded with the church.  A church of strangers and pilgrims, weak and scorned, allowed itself to be seduced by Satan through Constantine's favors. The church sold its martyr's soul for the glories of the world, and prostituted itself as the whore of Babylon by becoming the Emperor's de facto state religion.

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

A church that had formerly renounced war married war, and for seventeen hundred and three years has dishonored its founding Martyr by justifying war.

The church has tried to serve two masters, but has only validated Jesus' teaching on this impossibility.

Only a heretic church can advertise a rifleman as a *True Believer*. . .

If there be any of faith on earth, let them pray this rifleman be converted, lest he suffer the horror of Matthew 7:22-23:

Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name?  And in Thy name have cast out devils?  And in Thy name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.

Fish Stories

9 February 2015: A vigorous debate over Brian Williams' future is brewing as "NBC Nightly News" aired Monday without the decade-long anchor.

Some critics suggest that Williams, who apologized last week for falsely claiming that he was in a helicopter that had been hit by a grenade while in Iraq in 2003, should be fired. Others wonder if commerce will win out, since Williams has kept "Nightly News" at the top of the ratings while much of his news division crumbled around him. How much are the years of good work worth?

"This is one of the toughest calls that I've ever seen," said Paul Levinson, professor of communications and media studies at Fordham University. "On the one hand, the public is right to expect nothing but the truth from our reporters and our news anchors."

Uh. . .ok. . .so. . .help me understand this, please.

The war. . .that war of which Brian Williams told some *fish stories* about himself. . .that Iraq war that started in 2003. . .uh, that war that was born in lies. . .now we are supposed to be having a *vigorous debate* about some Talking Head's fish stories from that war?  Lying about a lie?  

America never has had, and never will have, a *vigorous debate* about her post-*9/11* wars.  War after war, endless drone murders, colored nations torn apart and left for the crows of the Islamic State to feed on, and Americans bury their heads in the sand.  

All right. . .in the last few days there have countless articles on the Williams' fish stories, most spouting platitudes similar to the one from the story above:

The public is right to expect nothing but the truth from our reporters and our news anchors. . .

But not from our Presidents, apparently, as American Media, post-*9/11,* has consistently supported government war propaganda. . .even when the government itself has confessed its sins!   

The Senate Intelligence Committee Report On Prewar Iraq Intelligence in 2008 concluded:

The Bush Administration repeatedly presented intelligence as fact when in reality it was unsubstantiated, contradicted or even non-existent.

Media reported BushCo's war lies as truth and disgraced itself as Shock and Awe cheerleaders, yet when the lies were exposed (uh, weapons of mass destruction, anyone?), Media just went on to the next war, reported uncritically the next wave of war propaganda.

So let me get this straight:

BRIAN WILLIAMS SHOULD FEEL NO SHAME FOR BEING A BUSH WAR PROPAGANDIST AND  *EMBEDDED* WAR WHORE, IT'S BEEN JUSTIFIABLE FOR HIM TO BECOME RICH AND REVERED FOR NEVER QUESTIONING WHITE HOUSE WAR PROPAGANDA, BUT NOW BECAUSE HE TOLD A FEW FISH STORIES ABOUT HIS CONDUCT IN A WAR HE HELPED SELL TO AMERICA, HE SHOULD BE ASHAMED?  BRIAN WILLIAMS IS PROBABLY SCRATCHING HIS EMPTY FUCKING HEAD RIGHT NOW: IT WAS OK FOR ME TO LIE AMERICA INTO A WAR, BUT NOT OK TO HELP MYSELF TO A COUPLE CORPORAL'S STRIPES?  

Are you fucking kidding me?  Bitching about Brian Williams taking some spoils of war for his part in promoting BushCo's war propaganda?  Talk about straining a gnat and swallowing a camel.

War after war, endless drone murders, colored nations torn apart and left for the crows of the Islamic State to feed on, and Media refuses to have an adversarial relation to government war propagandandists--THIS OUGHT TO BE THE GOD DAMNED STORY. . .not Brian Williams' fish stories.  

Brian Williams, and the rest of the Corporate Media, need to explain why they never met a war they didn't bend over for. . .

Bobby Jindal (R-LA) about Muslims and the threat of radical Islam.  “One of the great things about America is it doesn’t matter if you’ve been here five minutes or a hundred years, we have folks that come here, want to be Americans,” Jindal said. “They join our military, they start companies, they work to create a better community. And that’s wonderful. What’s not acceptable is people that want to come and conquer us. That’s not immigration, by the way, that’s colonization. If someone wants to come here and change our fundamental culture and our values. If they want to come here and they want to set up their own culture and values that’s not immigration, that’s really invasion — if you’re honest about it. This is a particular threat we face.  And if we’re not serious about this we’re going to see more lone wolf actors. We’re going to see more folks come into our country just like you’ve seen in other countries — the horrific shootings in Paris.”

A Clash Of Freedoms In Gay Paris!

Daily Mail, 7 January 2015: Twelve people were killed today when gunmen carried out a massacre at the offices of a notoriously anti-Islamist newspaper in Paris - including a police officer who was executed as he begged for mercy on the pavement. Masked attackers brandishing Kalashnikovs burst into the Charlie Hebdo headquarters, opening fire on staff after seeking out journalists by name. Clad all in black with hoods and speaking flawless French, the militants forced one of the cartoonists - who was at the office with her young daughter - to open the door. Witnesses said the suspected Al Qaeda gunmen were heard to shout 'the Prophet has been avenged' and 'Allahu akbar!' – Arabic for 'God is great' – as they stalked the building. They headed straight for the paper's editor and cartoonist, Stephane Charbonnier, killing him and his police bodyguard, who is believed to have been recruited to protect him following earlier threats. They also killed three other renowned cartoonists – men who had regularly satirised Islam and the Prophet Mohammed – and the newspaper's deputy chief editor. Horrific footage emerged showing an injured police officer slumped on the pavement as two of the gunmen approached him outside the office minutes later. In an apparent desperate plea for his life, the officer is seen slowly raising his hand towards one of the attackers, who responds by callously shooting him in the head at point-blank range. Despite a shoot-out with armed officers, the 'calm and highly disciplined' men were able to escape in a hijacked car and remain on the loose.

The rather breathy article goes on to state:

President Francois Hollande described the bloodbath as a 'barbaric attack against France and against journalists' and vowed blah blah blah. . .

After the shooting, hundreds of comments were posted on the Charlie Hebdo Twitter page, with one user, David Rault, writing: 'A sad day for freedom blah blah blah. . .

Charlie Hebdo's editor-in-chief Gerard Biard escaped the carnage because he was in London. He told France Inter: 'I am shocked that people can have attacked a newspaper in France, a secular republic. I don't understand it. I don't understand how people can blah blah blah. . .

A visibly shocked French President François Hollande, speaking live near the scene of the shooting, said: 'France is today in shock, in front of a terrorist attack. This newspaper was threatened several times in the past and we need to show we are a united blah blah blah. . .We have to be firm, and we have to stand strong with the international community blah blah blah. . .We are at a very difficult moment following several terrorist attacks. We are threatened because we are a country of freedom blah blah blah. . .We will punish the blah blah blah. . .

Anyway, you know the drill. . .

Though I did find President Barack Obama's remarks strangely untoward when he was asked to comment on the *senseless tragedy:*

President Obama says he would be "pretty aggravated" if he were a Detroit Lions fan after the team lost an NFL playoff game to the Dallas Cowboys following a disputed penalty call. . .Obama said he watched the game and that he couldn't "remember a circumstance in which a good call by one of the refs is argued about by an opposing player of the other team with his helmet off on the field, which in and of itself is supposed to be a penalty. The call is announced and then reversed without explanation. I haven't seen that before. So I will leave it up to the experts to make the judgment as to why that happened, but I can tell you, if I was a Lions fan, I'd be pretty aggravated."

Uh, perhaps the President got his senseless tragedies mixed up?

But anyway, something buried deep inside the otherwise hoary *terror* story did catch my eye:

Mr Biard said he did not believe the attack was linked to the newspaper's latest front page, which featured novelist Michel Houellebecq, who has previously sparked controversy with comments about Islam.

Houellebecq!  Thank God he wasn't in the Charlie Hebdo office! A national treasure!  The quintessential *French Novelist.*  I mean, just try to picture *French Novelist.*  You know, effete, dissolute, unkempt, pencil-necked, chain-smoking.  You would picture this guy:

Thankfully Houellebecq is unharmed, and will be able to continue his rather uneven literary career:

Whatever: A thin Bret Easton Ellis knockoff in which the disaffected wanker hero's drug of choice is nicotine, not cocaine.  

The Elementary Particles: A major step forward, a history of Western decay since the 1960s, told through the broken lives of Narcissus-and-Goldmundesque half-brothers.  

Platform: A step backward, a tedious combination of porn and Houellebecq's first jump onto the islam-bashing bandwagon.

The Possibility Of An Island: Houellebecq bottoms out with this silly sci-fi apocalypse, loosely based on the Raelian cult.

The Map And The Territory: A return to greatness. . .vintage Houellebecqian cranky discourses on art, consumerism, existence, alienation, death, houseflies. And in a masterpiece of self-parody, Houellebecq himself appears as a character in this, his finest novel.

All right, but anyway, so about the shooting. We have the usual blather about *Freedom.*  So let's talk about *Freedom:*

You have white Westerners who believe they have advanced beyond menial labor and who lured darkies to their Utopia to clean their restrooms, pick up their garbage and do their laundry, crying today in Gay Paris! because hot-headed elements of their darky lower class got tired of scrubbing godless Western toilets and then, while riding the Metro green line to their slums, had to read condescending cartoons about their beliefs inked by the master class *exercising* one of its precious *freedoms.*  Well, today two or three of the islamic underclass decided to exercise one of their precious freedoms, the freedom their religion gives them to kill the infidels. . .ha ha ha!
  
What we had today in Gay Paris! was a clash of freedoms. . .nothing more, nothing less.

*Freedom!*  The great scam of the rich!  The ultimate something-for-nothing swindle.  While picking the pockets of the poor, the rich distribute a few dirty magazines and stage a meaningless vote, and then lecture the poor on how privileged they are to be *free,* while laughing all the way to the bank:

That's right. . .the richest 85 people in the world own more wealth than the bottom half of the entire global population.

Unfortunately, the only *Freedom* most Westerners have is the freedom to be in bondage to vulgarity.  Real freedom, the ability to direct the course of one's own life, is beyond the overwhelming majority of Westerners, white or colored, who are under control of the Great Master, The Bank.

And now another round of Western huffing and puffing on the House of Terror. . .

The real lesson on *Freedom* from Gay Paris! will go unlearned.  And it goes above and beyond earthly inequality.  Even the Great are not Free.  They profit. . .but only in the here and now.  

When you watch mankind divided and at war, you see an enslaved creation, subject to the higher powers.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

But neither side in the sorcerer's *war on terror* will be able to see through the lying vanities of the world, and all things continue as they were from the fall of creation. . .
