The Spirit Behind US Policy Against Venezuela

New York Times: The Trump administration imposed sanctions against Venezuela’s state-owned oil company, seeking to cripple the government of embattled President Nicolás Maduro by cutting off its main source of cash. The move marked the first punitive step by the United States to force Mr. Maduro to give up power since the opposition leader, Juan Guaidó, declared himself interim president last week after years of accusations of corruption in Venezuela at the expense of its people. The sanctions prohibit most American businesses from engaging in transactions with the oil company, Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., or Pdvsa. Administration officials said the financial penalties are expected to block $7 billion in assets and result in $11 billion in export losses over the next year for Venezuela’s government, starving it from its most important source of revenue and foreign currency.

When we read these stories about the use of *economic sanctions* in US foreign policy, do we really understand the SPIRIT behind the action?

The following countries are *sanctioned* by the US:

Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burundi, Central African Republic, Congo, Crimea, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen, Zimbabwe.

The US seeks to force these countries to bend to its will by choking their economies.  

What does that really mean?

Imagine your own household economy.  Imagine a neighbor with the power to control the flow of money going into your bank account.  Imagine the income you earned being blocked from being deposited into your bank account.  Imagine going to Walmart to buy food without any dollars attached to your debit card.  Imagine going home without any food.  This, broadly, is the meaning of *economic sanctions.*

What type of entity would employ such tactics?

Do we really understand the SPIRIT behind *economic sanctions?*

The SPIRIT of the Beast.

Plain and simple: When the US government sanctions Venezuela et al., it is operating in the SPIRIT of the Beast.

US *economic sanctions* are demonic.  Remember that when reading or hearing stories that present the *economic sanctions* implemented by the US as if they are the legitimate actions of a moral government body.  *Economic sanctions* are not simply abstract *policies* meant to make the world a democratic utopia.  *Economic sanctions* are crude, cruel actions meant to starve others into bending to US will, into serving US interests, into to submitting to the US.  

Here is wisdom:
